 | 11 December 2009 - Qualifications that are valid across the Mediterranean region could make young people more employable and help businesses be more competitive. This is one of the conclusions of the first event in a new ETF project Qualifications in the Mediterranean region which took place in Tunis, Tunisia on 9 – 10 December. |

 | 4 December 2009 - Qualifications will start going regional when the ETF kicks off its new project on qualifications in the Mediterranean at a seminar in Tunis, Tunisia on December 9 - 10. The usual distinguished gathering of educationalists, officials from line ministries and experts from international organisations will be joined by employers from the tourism and building trades from Egypt, Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia as well as a number of EU Member States at an event hosted by Tunisian teacher training organisation CENAFFIF.. |

 | 20 November 2009 - Representatives from education and training institutions from nine countries in the Middle East and North Africa met on 18 and 19 November 2009 in Brussels to share follow-up measures to the MEDA ETE eLearning programme for teachers and trainers. |

 | 11 May 2009 - The network of the MEDA ETE component 4 on eLearning will meet on 11 May for a one day workshop focusing on the skills and competences of teachers and trainers in the 21st century. The objective is to share experience and knowledge on latest developments in this field in Europe and the MED region |

 | 6 May 2009 - The aim of the closing conference is to enable all the MEDA-ETE project actors to capitalise on the knowledge and expertise developed within the project and to share these both with the outside world and among themselves. |

 | 5 May 2009 - The aim of the final workshop of the Euromed Observatory Function is to review the last methodological note, to discuss the achievements of the project for the period 2006-2009 and to discuss how countries in the region may together build on the lessons learnt. Countries will be evaluating the impact the regional project has had at national level and plan future activities. |

MEDA ETE in brief
The Education and Training for Employment (ETE) is a regional project that is implemented within the Barcelona process, which has identified education and training as some of the main tools to favour the economic and social development of the MEDA region and to achieve the goals of competitive economies in open markets that are set up in the political agenda of the Euro-Mediterranean region.
